Part of the week-long staged reading series of New Works by New Jersey Playwrights, presented by the New Jersey Theatre's that support them. This evening, a new play from The Bickford Theatre.

Grace will be celebrating another birthday at the Allwood Assisted Living Center. Her attending nurse Patrice is trying to tend to her and get her ready for her party, but Grace's dementia poses a challenge to anyone with a plan. Grace is waiting for her son Danny to show up for his customary birthday visit, and when he does, Grace, who just wants to go home, tries to convince him to take her there. Danny wants to, but there are difficulties, including some important things Grace has to accept, before she can go.

John Wooten's plays have been produced Off-Broadway, in London, and in numerous regional Equity theaters. Productions: Trophies (Off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane), The Mission Home (King's Head Theatre in London and the Forum Theatre), Happy Hour (Twelve Miles West), Kiss the Bride (TheatreFest), UnCivil War (Theatre at Lime Kiln), and The Role of Della (ATL finalist and over 100 Regional productions). Awards/Nominations: New Jersey State Council on the Arts Fellowship, Best New Play nomination from the American Critics Association, Semi-finalist for a Nicholls Fellowship, sponsored by the Academy Awards, and Best Director and Best Play nominations from the Newark Star-Ledger.
